Mid-17th century sapper helmet. Such the pattern was wore by soldiers (sappers or ingenieurs), who were working in the area of fortifications’ walls during sieges, when they were under fire of enemies. This helmet was used in pair with simple, but strong breastplate. Skull is made of one piece of steel 2,0mm thick, 1,5mm cheeks and peak. The surface is hammered, blackened with beeswax (*5).
