The shape of the helmet is inspired by Memling’s depictions from the late 15th century. The capalin was made from two pieces of steel, the bell is one piece of steel while brim is the other, the two elements are hot-connected and riveted with invisible rivets on the surface of the brim. The place of connection can be seen in photo. The visible rivets on the bell are used to mount the soft helmet insert (they are not a structural element). 2.0mm and 1.5mm sheet metal was used to make the helmet. Surface is hammered, sanded, hammer marks left (*6). Product is not welded.
